A numbers advantage is a team fight where one side has more active players alive and able to contribute than the other side. In Overwatch 2, it usually comes from getting an elimination first, forcing a respawn, or winning a duel before the fight fully starts.

This matters because extra players mean more damage, healing, crowd control, and space control, while the smaller team has fewer tools to contest objectives or survive an engage. A numbers advantage often lets a team push forward aggressively, take stronger positions, or finish a fight quickly before the enemy can regroup. For example, if one team secures the first pick and turns the fight into a 5v4, the larger team can pressure the objective while the other side is still waiting to return.
